CHASING STORIES

Lexi Addison is an ocean storyteller, filmmaker, and environmental professional dedicated to exploring the connections between people, communities, and the sea. Through film, photography, and public engagement, she creates stories that bridge science, policy, and lived experience—bringing audiences closer to the people whose lives are intertwined with our ocean.

Her award-winning documentaries include Winds of Change, which examines the relationship between offshore wind development and West Coast fishing communities, and The Last Fin, an intimate look at shark fisheries and the importance of collaboration within coastal communities in Indonesia. Whether documenting fishermen, scientists, or coastal cultures, Lexi approaches every project with curiosity, empathy, and a commitment to authentic storytelling.

Beyond filmmaking, Lexi works at the intersection of ocean conservation, community resilience, and environmental policy. She serves on the Steering Committee of the Early Career Ocean Professionals (ECOP) U.S. Node, part of the United Nations Ocean Decade, helping foster collaboration and create opportunities for the next generation of ocean leaders. She is a member of FutureSwell's Creator Coalition and an official Ambassador for Oceanic Global, using storytelling and community engagement to connect broader audiences with ocean issues and inspire action.

STORYTELLING

At the heart of Lexi's work is a belief that the most powerful stories are rooted in trust and shaped by the people who live them. Whether documenting fishing communities, scientists, or conservation practitioners, she strives to amplify voices that are often overlooked and allow stories to unfold naturally.

Her films and photography explore themes of resilience, identity, and our relationship with the ocean. Through immersive visuals and thoughtful narratives, she aims to foster empathy, spark dialogue, and create deeper connections between people and the natural world.
